GCSEWe us the Edexcel GCSE (code 1DT0). We offer 2 options. graphics (1DT0/1B – Papers and boards), or timber (1DT0/1F – Timbers). Whatever option you take, you have an exam worth 50% and your controlled assessment (project and folder) is worth 50%. This controlled assessment is set by the examination board and you will start this in June Specification is available here.
|
A levelThe A level is much broader than the GCSE but you still have the qualification broken down into 50% examination and 50% coursework (a final product and design folder). Your project can be set in any context or material however it is very user-centred so you do need a client to make your project successful. You do however get to identify your client who will give you regular feedback on your work.
