Testing and evaluation
Testing = fact, evaluation = opinions
Testing
During your making you will need to carry out tests. You need to record these and summarise them here. At this point in the project you need to come up with a series of tests, explain why you are doing them, how you will do them and finally record the results. For example in your light switch project you will need to test that it fit the back box because this is a standard fitting for light switches. I will do this by using plate screws and fitting it to a standard back box. When I did this I found out.........
Evaluation
This is where you write about yours and others opinions. Things like Aesthetics and age suitability need to be evaluated using people's opinions. You can tests these (8 out of 10 target users thought......), but they are still opinions. You could find out how much people would be willing to pay or the suitability of the colour pallet. You could also discuss the suitability of the design. You should come up with a series of questions that you use with potential users to get valuable feedback.
Conclusion
Once you have completed your testing and evaluation you need to summarise your findings and suggest areas of your design that you would need to be developed further. A few sketches here would be realy useful. In this section you also need to describe how the product would be designed differently so that it can be manufactured in quantity. Your work up to now has been focussed on your one-off model. You need to demonstrate your understanding of mass manufacturing and explain using diagrams how this would take place.
